new tattoo yesterday.. it's a bow and arrow on my hip.. i'm not sure if i am going to get another one on the other side, or do something else.. but i think it looks wicked nice..

In the past years, I've approched my birthday with a kind of dread, because i knew that Christmas was only a week away, and its a big deal with my family.. and also happiness, at being another year older, and another year wiser.. My birthday, being so close to the winter solstice, i also find it a spiritual time as well.. .


This year, i've been stretched to a new level of thinness, in between working 50-60 hours a week, and trying to find time with my special people.. R working in the early mornings, and me working mostly in the afternoons/evenings has been playing a bit of a toll on our relationship.. not to mention his  mother moving away last month wasn't very helpful..

And D, who i have known since i was four years old, is back from iraq and Germany, where he is stationed in the Army. Having him around has brought great happiness to me for the holiday season.. I had a fantastic yule celebration with him, and our friends, at the Universalist Church a few days before my birthday.. it was so refreshing to have someone to celebrate that holiday with, i look foward to spending more time with J and B and their daughter, K.

as i begin my 23rd year, i'm thinking more about my life, and what i am going to do with it.. a very good friend of mine once said that these years between 18 and 25 are the most important, these are the years that shape who you will be.. i'm finding i didn't much like who i was 3 years ago, but i realized that in order to appreciate who i am to become, i must find who i am not. and move to change it.

i also realized that becoming older, means i'm ready to face bigger adventures.. moving far away doesnt seem so daunting as it did, or moving to the city,  the world is opening up for me in a way that i didn;t realize it could

What a week
i haven't had much car trouble before, and never any dangerous things that happen to me while i have been in a car, but this past week, ive had two major things go wrong with my car.

its a 1997 chevy blazer, with 104,000 miles on it.. but it usually gives me no troubles.


well, i was driving home from work, three days after i got it back from the garage,having had the oil changed, and a minor clunking fixed, when the big red brake light came on, and i couldn't stop.. it happened to be at a very busy ntersection halfway home, i had to go through the stop sign, and pull over to the side

scary in itself. i turned the car off, and back on, and then after that, i had enough brakes left to make it to robs house,about 3 miles away, where we looked at the brake fluid.. and there was none in the reservoir for the rear brakes, so we put more in, and then looked in the back of the car, the fluid was sloshing down the cylinder and the tire.. robs father is a mechanic, and he said, that the cylinder was shot


i managed to have enough to make it to my house, and put it into the backyard. that was fun....

so now i have the car back, it should be fixed.. they replaced all the brake cylinders, the brake lines, and the brake shoes and everything..

?I'm just glad nobody got hurt while i drove the thing home.

i have a healthy respect for the things that stop 5 thousand pounds(give or take) of metal driving at high speeds..

you take for granted the things that are always supposed to work, until they stop working..
